20 Beyond the Bridge
Beyond the Bridge
Follow in the footsteps of generations of fishermen and cross the bridge from the present to past.
The adrenalin rush of crossing the National Trust Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge attracts visitors from around the world, but from the mid 1700’s until the early 21st century it was a pathway to a fishing industry that sustained generations of local families. Your guide takes you along the footsteps of those salmon fishermen down to a fishermen’s hut, which has remained unchanged for decades. It’s where fishermen sheltered, rested and told stories, and you can do the same, as their lives unfold in vivid detail.
“I want people to know they can come and feel the warmth of the embrace and feel that they belong. Combining history and heritage with immersive opportunities in a totally unique location.”
