Desde su formación en Barranquilla, Colombia en el 2008, Doris Vespa se ha convertido en un referente del Reggae y Dance Hall en la ciudad. Sus miembro Juan Carlos Garanton (Voz Líder), Diego Torné (Bajo), José de Castro (Guitarra / Coros), Mauricio Barranco (Batería / Coros) y Cristian López (Piano / Synth) se conocen gracias a la escena musical de la ciudad, estando en diferentes bandas locales. En el año 2013, y luego de algunos cambios en los integrantes, logran consolidar su alineación actual y lanzan su primer sencillo Ocreman Song. Es a finales de ese año cuando la banda decide emprender la tarea de grabar su primer EP de manera independiente, grabando un total de 6 temas que serán lanzados a finales del 2014. La banda ha participado en eventos y festivales como Hot en Paraiso, Zona Picnic Club Colombia, Oktoberfest Club Colombia, Fiesta de la Música / Alianza Francesa, Francofette / Alianza Francesa, Miche Rock Festival, Indie Music Fest / Handshake Music, Playa Verano, entre otros. Doris Vespa esta constantemente en la búsqueda de nuevos sonidos que alimenten su propuesta musical, así con el paso de los años, subgéneros del Reggae como el Dance Hall, Raggamuffin, Dub, y algunos ritmos del Caribe colombiano se han filtrado en la sangre de sus integrantes.
In 2008, Doris Vespa, a local band from Barranquilla, Colombia started a new project experimenting with different Caribbean backgrounds, and since then, they have become one of the top references in reggae music in its city. Their members : Juan Carlos Garanton (Vocals), Diego Torné (Bass), José de Castro (Guitar / 2nd Voice), Mauricio Barranco (Drums /3rd Voice) y Cristian López (Piano / Synth) have known each other for a while starting from the musical scene in the Barranquilla, each one coming from different bands and different backgrounds, In 2012 and after changing a couple of band members and talking, they kept this lineup and went on to release their first single "Ocreman Song". At the end of 2013, the band finally decides to record their first 7 song EP independently, which will be released at the end of 2014. The band has been part of various events and festivals in Colombia like; Hot in Paraiso , Zona Picnic de Club Colombia, Oktoberfest de Club Colombia, Indie Music Fest/Handshake Music, Red Bull's Luna Surfera (Surfing Moon), Playa Verano and many more. Doris Vespa is constantly in the search for new sounds that help them grow as musicians and feed their minds with different genres they combine bringing that multicultural feeling, mixing up Reggae with Dancehall, Hip Hop, Drum and Bass and other Colombian Caribbean sounds which run through their veins.
