Hate doesn’t have to conquer all. Just ask Seraphim

Railroad has supplied direct aid to over 7500 people who are facing violence and discrimination in their home countries. Rainbow Railroad has helped thousands of LGBTQIA+ individuals find safety and a new home in countries that accept them for who they are.

THESE ARE STRANGE and sometimes frightening times in which we live.

Misinformed, angry individuals and organizations are relentlessly attacking entire groups of the most vulnerable among us - women, people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community and more. For a trans person now, as an example, simply walking down the street can feel like an exercise in hell, wondering who will hurl the next volley of hatred.

Amid this madness, pockets of courage and sanity exist. Rainbow Railroad is an international nonprofit organization that works to help LGBTQIA+ individuals facing persecution escape to safety. Since 2006, Rainbow

While it’s clearly indispensable to masses of SL shoppers, you might think of Seraphim, founded in 2011, as is simply a useful service. It doesn’t take much digging, however, to find the beautiful, empathetic heart beating within this business.

When I discovered that Seraphim had produced SeraPRIDE for years now, as a fundraiser for Rainbow Railroad, my cynical, wornout soul kinda melted. Goodness and humanity still exist in this bruised, battered world.

Intrigued, I swung by the event for a visit. Every imaginable type of avatar, each in its own version of festive gear, packed the venue. The music was celebratory; a nonstop dance-a-thon. The colors, the lights, the sheer joy of it all – blissfully overwhelming.

Thank you, Seraphim, for reminding us of faith, hope, and love. g
