RECREATING THE WORLD OF GRAHAM STAINES A PRODUCTION DESIGNERS JOURNEY

BHUPESH R BHUPATHI Simply Scan and Watch

The story of the WILLYS Station Wagon. This was the most important movie property which we meticulously and most respectfully recreated for the movie.

Graham used his Willys station wagon as a make-shift clinic, to travel to remote locations in the tribal areas and treat people. It was so well equipped, it had all the facilities of a full fledged clinic.

We clearly knew that we needed more than one vehicle. One for the main Character vehicle and one for the Burning purpose. This was my Concept Sketch for the look and feel of his medical work station.

We could not risk having only one vehicle and burn the same one after principal photography. This was too risky.

Restoration Begins… Ready to load up and travel to the hills After many sleepless nights, the restoration team headed by SYED OMAIR and SHARM A got the vehicle on time and delivered it to our office in Hyderabad to be loaded on a truck and sent to the location.

God lies in the details… Bharat Motors Nampally. A genius team of mechanics helped put this vehicle back in running condition. They specialise in Jeep restoration in Hyderabad, India.

Thanks to my teachers at NID (design school) The finer the detailing in production design, the more easy it becomes to tell a story. The performer just has to fit in to the environment and be transformed. My Cinematographer arrives with the Sun. He reads the light and makes suggestions for placement of things.

He made my set pieces comealive.

Ant the shoot begins, at the Willys clinic location. Both the actors are in character and in their Jayakrishna Gummadi, a environment. The cinematographer cinematographer par captures the magic directed by excellence. This man is a genius. Aneesh Danial. Message From Shabnam

We all are born as empty vessels but shaped by our moral values; a belief that is centric to Shabnam's life. She picked her battles, she fought like a warrior but always picked to NOT do what was easy but to do what was RIGHT. Life is beautiful and too short to live in fear, so unleash yourself, fly and soar to new heights because the journey of life is not meant to be planned, it is meant to be travelled and enjoyed..
