NEW TOLOWA DEE-NI’ NATION EMPLOYEES Christina Pereira Records and Enrollment Manager

Jalea Walker Education Project Manager Ms. Walker is an enrolled Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation tribal member. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Leadership Studies from Humboldt State University, and an Associates degree in Behavioral & Social Sciences from College of the Redwoods.

Christina Pereira is our new Records and Enrollment Manager. She shares that she is excited to be an employee of the Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation and is eager to be of service to Tribal Citizens and the community.

She is from the Lopez family, great granddaughter of Edward and Lena Lopez, granddaughter of Frances Lopez and her parents are Jolanda Ingram and Duane Walker. Jalea has two children, Laila and Lawrence, and is engaged to be married to Troy Aubrey in July 2022. Ms. Walker has numerous years of experience working with the local tribes, as well as National Tribal organizations. She was on the National Indian Child Welfare Association Board of Directors (NICWA) and the National Congress of American Indians Youth Commission (Both from 2007-2012). “I am excited to start this journey and thankful for the opportunity to work for the Tolowa people and the future of the Tribe.”

OPPORTUNITY FOR ARTISTS An art project called "For the Seventh Generation", is working to create a spectacular mural of the California, Oregon and Washington coastline. There is an upcoming exhibition at the Lincoln City Cultural Center in Portland, Oregon in July 2022. Applications are due by June 18, 2022. They are looking for artists who will produce a 2’ x 4’ painting of a section of the coastline all throughout California. This painting will join hundreds of other paintings in creating a continuous seascape of the West Coast. Christina worked as a Records Specialist for the Crescent City Police Department prior to joining the Nation. She was also a dental office manager for 15 years. On her off time she enjoys being with family and friends or being outdoors.
