ETC hosts Parade of Gods

Aiming to introduce the different mythologies to students, the English Teachers’ Club (ETC) of the College of Education organized the “Parade of the Gods”, convened by freshmen and sophomores English Majors, which started from the Little Theater to the University Park, Nov. 15.

1.2 out of 10 in the UNO-Rian community had a neutral satisfaction about the University Week 2023.

“In order to live up to our special field, we encourage our first-years and second-years from our department to dress up as the different gods and goddesses from different civilizations,” ETC Vice President Jean Rose Burgos said.

Burgos added that this event was already present prior to the establishment of the ETC.

Moreover, ETC Adviser Nikko Paolo Calumpiano, LPT, MAEL, in his opening remarks, highlighted the importance of the event in allowing the students to embody what it is to characterize a God and in boosting their confidence.

“This is about closing your fourth wall, not breaking your fourth wall. This means that whatever happens, whatever you may see or hear from your audience, you will not be affected because you are right now a performer, “ Calumpiano said.

Furthermore, the participants portrayed the different Gods and Goddesses from the Philippine, Egyptian, Greek, Chinese, and Norse Mythologies.
