UNO-R Staff clinches victory in B-ball

University of Negros OccidentalRecoletos (UNO-R) Faculty and Staff asserted their dominance in an intense four-quarters basketball championship, 85-69, over the Ceres Corporation Team, held at the University Gymnasium, Nov. 18.

“The game aims to foster fraternal bonds between the Ceres Corporation Team and UNO-R Faculty and Staff,” Basketball Sports Moderator Elma Lina Tejida said.

The first quarter concluded with the UNO-R Team leading 28-21, a result achieved through a series of effective defensive strategies.

“Our strong teamwork is evident as we execute numerous passes, make successful assists, and secure sure shots,” UNO-R Faculty and Staff Team Player Rey Mark Maalihan shared.

During the second quarter, the UNO-R Team dominated with a score of 49-24, capitalizing on a succession of successful shots and assists.

“Our winning strategy revolves around playing the game with enthusiasm, and putting in our best effort,” Maalihan added.

Moreover, the third quarter concluded with a score of 65-48, marking the result of a series of successful offensive and defensive plays.

“We enjoyed the competition, improved our skills through dedicated practice, and addressed occasional miscommunications through open dialogue and additional training,”

UNO-R Team Player Ernesto Peraren Jr., shared.

Furthermore, Ernesto Peraren Jr. of the UNO-R Team earned the title of Most Valuable Player.
