2012 Toledo Ballet Summer Pre-Intensives Guest Instructors Soili Arvola is a former
principal with the National Ballet of Finland; Bronze medal winner (professional category) at International Ballet Competition; choreographer and featured guest artist.
Tricia Albertson began
her ballet training in Santa Cruz, CA, with Vicki Bergland and Rebecca Bartlow. After attending several summer programs as a scholarship student at the School of American Ballet in New York, she attended SAB as a full-time student. In 1997, Ms. Albertson joined the Miami City Ballet. She has been a principal dancer at MCB since 2006. Some of her favorite principal roles have been in Giselle, Jerome Robbins’ Dances at a Gathering and In the Night, and George Balanchine’s Ballet Imperial, Rubies, Square Dance, and The Nutcracker.
Samantha Shelton is a
Visiting Assistant Professor at Alma College in the Theatre and Dance Department, where she co-directs the Alma College Dance Company. She received her professional training from the Joffrey Ballet and David Howard Dance Center in NY. For the past 15 years, she has served on the faculty for American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive. She holds an MFA in Dance from University of Michigan and a BA in Political Science from UM.

Summer Pre-Intensive 2012 at Toledo Ballet! We welcome Soili Arvola, Tricia Albertson and Samantha Shelton to our Summer Pre-Intensive Program.
Whether choosing one week of study or all three, all students will be challenged and encouraged by our guest faculty and current Toledo Ballet Faculty. Our instruction ensures a nurturing environment that appreciates the unique abilities that each student brings to the classroom. The skill and dedication of our teachers provides for the proper training of dancers and the realization of their goals.
