The yogis worked enthusiastically picking up garbage and educating curious beach goers. In 1.5 hour’s time, our joint effort resulted in 8.8 pounds of small plastic pieces and cigarette butts. Hard work pays off! Yoga is more than doing backbends and standing on our head! Combining asana, and lifestyle observances with caring for the world we all depend on begins a true journey on the Eight Limb Path. Yoga for Sustainability aims at exploring these pathways by creating theme-based yoga classes, followed by environmental educational events. We warmly welcome you to the next Karma Yoga for Sustainability class at American Yoga! Asa Guilamo has her masters in Environmental Management and Audit from Stockholm University and has worked for the central Sweden government for over ten years. She has advised three governmental committees: The Scientific Council on Climate Issues, The Parliamentarian Committee on Climate Issues and The Delegation for Sustainable Cities and has served in different positions in the Ministry of the Environment.
