Keep an eye on: Jesse Ryder. Some strong performances in Tests suggest the hard-hitting Kiwi may be maturing. Should be a big hit. Other notables: Kevin Pietersen, Cameron White, Jacques Kallis, Mark Boucher, Nathan Bracken, Ross Taylor.
DECCAN CHARGERS Based in: Cape Town. The star southerner: Adam Gilchrist. Watching the big-eared wonder stroll out to bat at the top of the innings will warm Aussie hearts. Keep an eye on: Andrew Symonds. One of the world’s most destructive players, combining brutal batting, sublime fielding and sly bowling. Wants to force his way back in the Aussie set-up after boozing threatened to derail his career. Other notables: Herschelle Gibbs, Scott Styris.
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS Based in: Durban. The star southerner: Jacob Oram. The Kiwi all-rounder is an explosive batsman and bullish bowler. Keep an eye on: Albie Morkel.
