The word “care” is defined as “watchfulness…to be interested in someone or something.” It seems the moment you were born into this world, God the Father set His watch over you, measuring your stature and even counting the hairs on your head (Matthew 6:27; 10:30). Christ knows that we are sinful and that we will sin. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” But, “while we were yet sinners Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Christ cares for the children of God, so we don’t need to worry. He said, “I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body more than raiment? …Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field…shall he not much more clothe you…For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:25, 30-33). He will take care of us if we put Him first in our lives! Jesus said, “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give your rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly of heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).
