“Excuse me, please.

Are you going to eat that chip?” I asked.

Sometimes frightening things aren’t so nice.

“Are you ready to come out now, Jess? The seagull has gone, and it’s time to go home.”

“I think I’ll stay here a little bit longer.”

“Are you OK?” asked Ma.

“What for?”

“I’ve got the tremblies,” I whispered.

“Sometimes they just show up.”

“Is there anything I can do?”

“Just keep me company while I wait for them to pass.”
