BBQ Beef is king in Texas and there’s nowhere else in the country that prepares beef like the pitmasters in Texas. In Texas, BBQ is a tradition handed down from generation to generation, from pitmaster to pitmaster. It’s also a place where culinary innovation pushes joints to introduce exciting new dishes to keep up with the competition. Here, the best of tradition meets cutting edge gastronomy. Don’t leave Dallas without trying out these truly life-changing BBQ joints.
Pecan Lodge Pecan Lodge first began its journey as a restaurant at the Dallas Farmer’s Market. Now, they call Deep Ellum home. The long lines snaking out of the restaurant will attest to the following their smoked meats have earned. Pecan Lodge has earned accolades locally and across the world as one of the best BBQ joints anywhere.

Participants come from across the world in early December to run Dallas’s largest and Texas’s oldest marathon. The course highlights Dallas landmarks and popular neighborhoods throughout the 26.2-mile run. The Omni Dallas Hotel is the official headquarters for the race and it’s attached to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, the location of the race’s Health & Fitness Expo.
