1 CHRONICLES 12:32

1 Chronicles 12 gives a description of the Sons of Issachar. They are described as mighty men, men of understanding, men full of knowledge. The word understanding is the Hebrew word binah, which means “to have insight or to act with prudence.” According to Strong’s Concordance, it comes from a root verb that means to separate something mentally and distinguish its parts. The word reflects the presence of intelligence and wisdom, even cunning and skill, in the process. In other words, this is not just an understanding of the facts, but a skillful analysis of what something truly means. They were men who knew what was happening and because they did, they brought encouragement to David and his men. Have you studied the Word of God in such a way that you can bring hope to those who may be discouraged and gave up on God?

Do we recognize the devaluation of life fueled by a humanistic system that lowers man to the level of nothing more than another beast of the field? Are we disturbed by the senseless violence that is often perpetrated by children? Do we really have a grasp on what God has given us in His word about the times we are living in? 1 Peter 3:15 tells us, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

• The culture we live in is upside down; it is called the cancel or woke culture.

• We Live in a godless society, calling right wrong and wrong right.

• The times we live in are extremely dangerous times, they are filled with senseless violence and destruction.

• Our world and the church have turned to drugs and alcohol instead of seeking the true and living God, who according to Isaiah 53:4 “… hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.”

Only the Word of God can give us a true estimate of the times we live in. let us look at some passages together: 2 Timothy 3:1-5 - But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days: Let us look at what will be going on according to scripture. I made a list out of 2 Timothy 3:1-5

1. People will be lovers of themselves 2. Lovers of money 3. Boastful 4. Proud 5. Abusive 6. Disobedient to their parents 7. Ungrateful 8. Unholy 9. Without love 10. Unforgiving 11. Slanderous, without self-control 12. Brutal 13. Not lovers of the good 14. Treacherous 15. Rash 16. Conceited 17. Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Wow, what a list! The Sons of Issachar were analysts. They studied the times, the political climate, and the spiritual climate; because they were wise, they knew how to take the word of God and apply it to what was going on at that time. Let us see what an analyst does. Analysts give guidance to businesses, government entities and individuals on financial and business decisions. An analyst collects data on business performance and develops statistical reports. They identify areas of improvement and create a recommended plan to streamline processes.

2 Peter 3:3-4 - Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing, and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation. Wisdom is the ability to take the word of God and apply it to circumstances. When people are making fun of your beliefs, running you down, scoffing at the coming of Christ, do you tuck tail and run, or will you realize all who live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Let us be like the sons of Issachar women and men of courage, bold, those who understand the times we are living in. who know how to give the right word at the right time. A person has joy in an apt answer, and how delightful is a timely word! Proverbs 15:23 And remember Those who know their God will do great exploits!! Daniel 11:32 ✽
