Active vacation
Actively enjoy the Plitvice area Walking, hiking, or cycling? Combine all three activities while discovering the green magic of the Plitvice Lakes. The incredible beauty and unique natural value of the Plitvice Lakes has also been recognized by UNESCO, who added the site to its prestigious World Heritage List back in 1979.
(1648 m a.s.l.), is worth every drop of sweat as you will have a bird's-eye-view of Plitvice Lakes. You can also cycle around Mrsinj and along the hills of Lička Plješevica. The area is crisscrossed with bike trails that reveal the idyllic landscapes that are typical in Lika. The MTB route around Mrsinj passes through forests, fields, and sprawling pastures with herds of sheep and cows, while the route along the hills of Lička Plješevica offers wonderful horizons of the surrounding towns and the mountain peak. Those who are more determined can take the route that
leads to the very top of the mountain, after which there is a reward - a long descent with priceless views of Mrsinj and Koreničko polje. Follow the Matica River through Koreničko polje all the way to its drop as a part of the Popolje trail, or gather up the courage to conquer The Trail. Whichever route you choose, you can expect a ride through idyllic, preserved nature, with an attractive panorama, many interesting sites and experiences, which you will definitely want to see again as soon as possible.

alking through the bubbly green fairytale of the Plitvice Lakes, the oldest and largest Croatian national park, is an experience that should be on the bucket list of every true traveler and nature buff. Put on a pair of comfortable sneakers and head out on a walk along the trails and wooden bridges through that show of water where calcium carbonate deposits created a series of lakes, waterfalls, and barriers in the most beautiful way possible. Yes, the lakes are truly enchanting, but there are also plenty of other things to explore in the surrounding area. The following day, switch out your sneakers for a pair of hiking boots and head out to conquer mountain peaks. Choose Mrsinj, a hill above the town of Korenica that is just slightly shorter than the surrounding hills and home to the medieval fortress of Mrsinj-grad, as your first climb. Climbing up Lička Plješevica, the mountain that is home to the highest peak in Lika, Gola Plješevica
