I
t is a great joy to present to you, for the first time in the magazine, central Podravina, an area in the continental part of Croatia, located between the impulsive Drava River and the tame hills of Bilogora. It is an area with beauty, idyllic surroundings, peace, and cultural life that has remained untouched by the fast pace of daily life, so it is, with reason, an area that is especially attractive not only as a place to live, but also for tourism. There, muses regularly find inspiration, the area has been the topic of many songs, and one of the most popular Croatian drama shows,
"Gruntovčani", was also filmed there. It consists of seven municipalities, each of which is special in many ways, even though they share similar characteristics - they can all boast indescribable natural beauty and friendly hosts, and each one is a true treasure grove of art, and a place filled with many wine and food experiences. Start exploring in Drnje, surrounded by archeological sites that will take you back in time, as if you were in a time machine, to 5000 B.C..
