Green Ring
One of the best ways to tour the destinations of the Zagreb County is by bicycle. Experience it this summer.

The Zagreb County is included in the Greenway Project, the first cycling highway in Croatia that runs along the Sava River, with a total length of 121.6 kilometers.

ver the past few years, cyclotourism has become one of the leading trends in tourism, and it is likely to continue growing at a rate of ten percent in the upcoming years. Considering the fact that there are around 60 million active cyclists in Europe alone, it is clear that there is great potential for tourism. The Zagreb County is aware of those facts, and for years, its tourist board has been developing that segment of the tourism offer, and recently, its employees presented ZG Bike, Zagreb County's mobile app for all those who would like to discover the beauty of destinations by bike. Regardless whether you are an avid cyclist, or just do it for fun, before touring the green ring that surround the Croatian capital, download the ZG Bike app, which will help you enjoy exploring the destination and reveal a lot of useful information. Along with 13 maps of bike routes, with a total length of 1317 km, the destination also awaits you with a new cyclotourism treat, 176.44 km in length, called the Sava Route, Waterfall Route, and
Zagreb Route. The Sava Route is 87.59 km long, and includes three additional routes with names that will intrigue you even more: the Jezerska route, the Bird and Turtle Route, and the Route of Wooden Bridges. The Waterfall Route is 47.79 km long, while the Zagreb Route is 41.06 km long. All are described on the app, and there is also information on accommodations and restaurants, as well as attractions worth seeing in the area. The application also allows you to create your own route. The routes will take you over picturesque hills and through idyllic valleys, you will pass through traditional villages full of stories and charming traditional houses, alongside canyons and winegrowing hills, next to breathtaking panoramas, following rivers and lake shores... You will also pass by family farms, and cellars of hardworking winemakers, where it is worth taking the time to stop and rest.
