The Murter Carnival (Murterske Bake) is more than a costumed parade that passes through the city. It is a tourist attraction and spectacle of creativity, originality and laughter. It will draw you to Murter, a town on the island of the same name, in the winter months as well.

lthough it is a popular summer destination, Murter is growing in popularity in the winter too, especially during the time the Murter Carnival (Murterske Bake) is held. However, the Murter Carnival is much more than a costumed parade - it is a true spectacle and experience that you will talk about until the following carnival and doubtlessly one of the most original and entertaining carnival parades in Croatia. The innovative
costumes, which are as creative as they get, are the main feature of the carnival, which the inhabitants of the town of Murter on the island of the same name live for all year long. As soon as the grand parade ends, and the figure of Krnjo Krnjić is sentenced and burned for all the bad things that happened in the past year, preparations for the next carnival begin.
