Looking for a fun way to lose your fear of painting? Join me as I help you explore simple water color techniques. Patterns for paintings are provided and each student’s work will be unique. Consider this class a “springboard” to a new and exciting life as an artist. Scratch board is a paper (or foil) board that is covered with wax or gesso and coated over with black ink. The most common is a black-and-white technique. Learn how to use scratch tools to create a variety of drawings by scratching off the black ink and revealing the board beneath. This class is for beginners looking to explore art, and more advanced students looking to delve deeper into this art form. Students learn to understand and execute the basic principles involved in creating tight, realistic colored pencil renderings. The importance of beginning with an accurate drawing is stressed before proceeding to color. Subject matter is open to choice. Head over to the VVAC for a night of art therapy by creating and painting your take home 12x16 canvas. The VVAC instructor will guide you step-by-step on painting your masterpiece.
