SUMMER ENROLLMENT ON-BASE NOW OPEN Enrollment is now underway for summer classes on Tinker AFB. The following six institutions offer courses: Rose Sate College (739-5774), Park University (739-7275), Oklahoma City University (739-2306), The University of Oklahoma (739-7365), Webster University (739-3518), and the Oklahoma City Aviation Alliance (739-2574). Don’t hesitate to contact the on-base colleges and universities. They can assist with program information, the application process, enrolling, obtaining a degree plan, financial aid, etc. Tuition assistance is available for active duty military and civilians to help defray the cost of tuition. Contact the Education Services Center at 739-7408 for more information. MILWOMEN 2021 SCHOLARSHIP The MILWOMEN 2021 Scholarship deadline has been EXTENDED to 17 MAY 2021. This year’s theme is “Should Women Be Required to Register for the Draft?” This $1,000 scholarship is available to a high school senior that is a relative, male or female, of a military woman. ACCESSING HIGHER EDUCATION TRACK The Accessing Higher Education (HE) Briefing is designed for service members who are considering post-secondary education. Focusing on understanding and completing the college admissions process, participants explore career and personal goals, institutional selection factors, funding factors and financial aid, and the admissions process. The monthly briefing assists participants in analyzing their career and personal interests to formulate a post-secondary education plan to meet those goals. Briefing participants analyze different types of colleges/universities, methods of instructional delivery, transferability of credit, the school’s culture, and veteran support systems. The ultimate goal is to select an institution of higher learning that will support each student’s educational goals, and be a great fit academically, socially, and culturally.
