Tinker Auto Hobby has fully stocked tool cribs, 12 bays, fi ve vehicle lifts, and two brake racks available for people to work on their own vehicle.
Courses and Programs:
The Automotive Safety Course qualifi es patrons to use shop equipment. The course is off ered every Thursday at 3:30PM, but other times can be arranged as needed. There are also watch and learn programs available for brake jobs, front-end alignments, oil changes, anti-freeze checks, tire balancing, and tire rotations.
Auto Services:
If performing auto maintenance does not interest you, the Auto Hobby staff can do it for you! The professional staff can complete your engine fl ush, transmission fl ush, coolant fl ush, fuel fl ush, power steering fl ush, trans-axles and drives servicing (plus fl uid, if needed).
Auto Mart:
If you are interested in selling a vehicle in the base Auto Mart (located in the east parking lot in front of Bldg. 477), please visit the Auto Hobby Shop with the vehicle title/registration, license plate number, identifi cation card, and a credit card number.
Free Air
Need air? Stop by the front of the Auto Hobby Shop and use the 24/7 free air pump.
Tinker Car Wash
The Tinker Car Wash is located on the north side of the Auto Hobby Shop. The car wash has an automatic and self-service side, multiple wash options, and takes cash or credit cards. Prices range from $5 – $12. Qualified Recycling Program
QUALIFIED RECYCLING PROGRAM Bldg. 1156 // 405.739.3610 Mon - Fri: 7 am - 4 pm
Tinker QRP’s mission is to provide an effi cient and cost eff ective recycling program on Tinker Air Force Base to all customers, including the civilian workforce, military members and their families, and the industrial side of the base. The program is used to divert as much material as possible away from landfi lls while being cost effi cient.
QRP recycles metal, paper, cardboard, toner, aluminum, and newspaper. The 24 hour drop off site is located on the west side of bldg.1156 and has collection bins for cardboard, mixed paper, aluminum cans, tin cans, and plastic.
Any excess proceeds realized by the NAF Recycling Program are re-invested into the MWR fund to help with many base wide functions supporting our troops.
