Possession and/or use of tobacco, i.e. cigarettes, vaping devices and/or possession of matches, lighter, or other fire-starting instruments • 1st Offense – 3-5 days of OSS/referral to counselor • 2nd Offense – up to 10 days OSS/referral to Tribunal

Hearing

Sale or possession of tobacco products • 1st Offense – up to 3 days OSS/Parent Conference/ referral to SRO • 2nd Offense – up to 5 days OSS/Parent Conference/ referral to SRO • 3rd Offense – up to 10 days OSS/referral to Tribunal Hearing

Harassment and/or non-sexual confrontation or contention with another student. Intentionally providing false information to school personnel; forgery of parent’s signature, intentionally providing false information to parents. Students may not falsify, misrepresent, omit, or erroneously report information regarding instances of alleged inappropriate behavior by a teacher, administrator or other school employee toward a student. Any student (or parent or friend of a student) who believers a student has been the victim of an act of sexual abuse or sexual misconduct by a teacher, administrator or other school system employee is urged to make an oral report of the act to any teacher, counselor or administrator at his/her school. • 1st Offense – up to 3 days ISS • 2nd Offense – up to 3 days OSS • 3rd Offense – up to 5 days of OSS • 4th Offense – Administrative Discretion

Inciting student disorder and/or malicious mischief; refusing to disperse • 1st Offense – up to 5 days ISS • 2nd Offense – up to 5 days OSS

Property damage – intentional and deliberate action resulting in damages up to $100 to public property or to the real personal property of another. If a student destroys or damages property, the parent/guardian shall be required to repair or replace it.

Stealing/Larceny/Petty Theft – the intentional unlawful taking or carrying away of public or personal property. Law enforcement will be notified. • 1st Offense – up to 3 days OSS • 2nd Offense – up to 5 days OSS • 3rd Offense – up to 10 days OSS/referral to Tribunal

Hearing

Sale /Transmittal of stolen property • 1st Offense – up to 5 days OSS • 2nd Offense – up to 10 days OSS/referral to SRO

Damages exceeding $100 may lead to possible Juvenile Referral or Tribunal Hearing at Administrative Discretion

Law enforcement will be notified

Trespassing – willfully entering or remaining in any structure, conveyance or property without being authorized, licensed or invited; or having been authorized, licensed or invited and is warned by an authorized person to depart and refuses to comply. Law enforcement may be notified.

Harassment – It is the policy of Twiggs County Public School to prohibit any act of harassment based upon race, color sex, national origin, or disability at all times and during all occasions while at school, in the workplace or at any school event or activity. Any such act by a student shall result in prompt and appropriate discipline, including possible suspension or expulsion. Any student who believes he/she has been subjected to harassment or discrimination by other students or employees should promptly report the same to the principal of the school or to the school counselor • 1st Offense – up to 3 days ISS • 2nd Offense – up to 5 days OSS • 3rd Offense – up to 10 days OSS with referral to tribunal hearing
