OBITUARIES
Ofelia P. Duran
Ofelia P. Duran, 92, of Glendale, Arizona passed away on November 11, 2021 in Glendale, Arizona. She was born on March 9, 1929 in Tampico, Tamaulipas (Mexico) to Jesus Pena Bautista and Natalia Rico Martinez.
Ofelia married Julian Duran and moved to Phoenix Arizona. A few years later Ofelia was divorced. As a single mom with no family in Arizona, she raised her children by herself. She managed to get money by ironing clothes and keeping food on the table. Later she became a U.S. citizen and then hired by South Minister Presbyterian Church as a Head-start teacher. After her children were married, she was blessed with guardianship of her granddaughter Frances. Ofelia's love for life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by son, Robert Duran and wife, Barbara Duran; daughter, Debbie Hipolito and husband, Pablo Hipolito; daughter/granddaughter, Frances Moreno. Ofelia was blessed with grandchildren: Angelo Duran, Brandon Duran, Daisy Duran (Christopher), Natalie Hansen (David), Serena Hipolito (Chico) and Niccol Hipolito (Danny). Ofelia was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Caden Duran, Makayla Duran, Scarlett Duran, Aaron Morales, Celeste Hansen, Davin Hansen, Arian Rodriguez, Amari Rodriguez, Avery Rodriguez, Gianna Honey Preciado, Xzavier Palomo, Trinity Palomo and Carson Palomo.
We would like to thank Family Comfort Hospice/ Traditions Health for the loving care of Ofelia and treating her just like family.
Memorial Services will be conducted on November 30, 2021 at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens located at 4310 East Southern, Phoenix AZ 85042. Public Viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Rosary 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Service 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Burial directly after at about 1:30 pm.
