Benevilla hosts senior care, placement workshop
BY GLENDALE STAR STAFF
Benevilla’s education event series continues at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, with a free, online workshop titled “Home is Where the Heart Is and Where to Turn When Home is No Longer an Option.”
It features local expert presenters Julie Huebner from Home Instead Senior Care and Rita McBride from A Better Solution Senior Placement.
When living alone at home is no longer an option due to dementia or physical challenges, fi nding support for your loved one can seem an impossible task.
What are the in-home care services available to older adults to maintain a purposeful life no matter where they call home? What living options are available if home is no longer an option? What services do senior placement agencies offer? How much does it cost? Is a group home the right fi t? What is the difference between assisted and independent living facilities? These are just a few of the questions faced when living at home independently is no longer possible.
This free presentation is part of the yearlong Benevilla C.A.R.E.S. Virtual Educational Workshop series featuring carefully selected professionals who can answer questions and provide guidance, practical solutions and resources you may need to prepare for senior life changes, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To reduce the risk of public exposure during the COVID-19 pandemic, Benevilla has chosen to convert its workshops into Zoom events.
Upcoming workshops cover a broad range of important topics, from inhome care management and hospice to estate preparation and tax savings tips.
Reservations are required; please use a working email address. Participants will be provided a secure link and password as well as easy-to-follow instructions on how to attend via the secure Zoom video conference application.
Call Benevilla at 623-584-4999 or visit benevilla.org/community-events to reserve a spot.
Started by the community and for the community in 1981, Benevilla is a not-for-profi t human services agency dedicated to enriching the lives of West Valley residents by providing care services for older adults, intellectually disabled adults, children and families.
