Kaminski graduates college with dual degrees Nicholas J. Kaminski, Pittston Township, recently graduated Cum Laude from Cabrini College, Philadelphia with dual degrees in Psychology and Sociology. He was a recipient of the 2011 Who’s Who Award which is given to select seniors whose accomplishments reflect the college’s commitment to scholarship, leadership and service. Nick’s on-campus activities included serving as president of the Psychology Club, secretary of the Sociology Club, member of the International Honor’s Society, member of both the Psychology and Sociology Honor Societies, Habitat for Humanity Volunteer, and Service Chairman for the Alpha Delta Gamma National Fraternity. He studied abroad through Semester at Sea, a global educational experience. Nick traveled the world, attending classes while being immersed in the various cultures of Spain, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Mauritius, India, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan; Hawaii and Guatemala. Nick also studied the European Union in Amsterdam, Brussels and Antwerp. On a service immersion trip with Cabrini Campus Ministry, Nick volunteered in Duran, Ecuador at Rosto de Christo , a Catholic faith based program which promotes spiritual support, social justice and educational opportunities. Through Cabrini College’s various programs, Nick hiked and camped along part of the Appalachian Trail, became a certified open -water scuba diver, and was an active committee member of Human Trafficking Awareness events. Nick is the son of David and Martina Kaminski, grandson of Sally Tomaszewski and the late Fred Tomaszewski, and the late Ann and George Kaminski. His future plans include Graduate Studies in the fall at the University of Scranton. Local Grads Nicole P. Gets superior rating in piano

Dean’s List Paige Bronsburg of West Wyoming has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at the Fashion Institute of Technology, State University of New York and is majoring in International Marketing. She is a 2009 graduate of Wyoming Area High School and is the daughter of Mark and Nancy Bronsburg. Holly Van Leuven of Pittston has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2011 semester at Emerson College. Robert J. Dzieciol, of Avoca has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at the University of Vermont. Dzieciol is a senior Mechanical Engineering major in the College of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences.

Jonathan J. Renfer recently attained a superior rating in piano at the National Federal Junior Festivals sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs. Meredith DeMark of Exeter graduated magna cum laude from Elizabethtown College Saturday, May 21, 2011, with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Cody McAdarra, son of Linda and John McAdarra, graduated from his home school education program. McAdarra, who is currently employed by St. Ann’s Basilica, Scranton, plans to pursue a career as a mechanic. West Pittston resident Christina Stefanelli was one of 622 students to graduate from Messiah College on May 14 during the College’s annual commencement. Gary S. Koncewicz, West Wyoming, son of David and Lisa Huntz, recently received a Cum Laude Bachelor of Science

degree in Health Care Management from Misericordia University. Gary has made the Dean’s List in his past 3 semesters. Gary plans on continuing his education at Misericordia University in the Physical Therapy Doctorates program. Gary is a 2007 Wyoming area graduate and has a brother Steven Huntz who is attending Wyoming Area High School.
