The occasion was the DeBartolo family foundation’s 15th All Star Charity Gala on March 24 at the Marriott Waterside, where the ballroom made an elegant stage for ’50s-style crooner Chris Isaak. All funds from the $500-a-ticket bash remain in Tampa for scholarships, teacher supplies and grants to grass-roots nonprofits. Now about that family feel: NFL legend Jerry Rice asked Latisha Pelayo to marry him. Of course, she said yes. Rice wasn’t the only Hall of Famer in attendance.
