furniture pieces into something more useful. Their creative and charming wood works are featured on our pages and their ideas are inspiring. One of their favorite shopping spots is the side of any road where items have been tossed in the trash. We were almost finished with this issue of Bay when the Tampa Bay Times sent us all home and the world as we knew it changed. We were planning a fashion shoot in a lovely home in Tampa’s Hyde Park but had to move the session to our photographer Brian James’ studio when the pandemic caused pandemonium. Instead, we hope you can envision yourselves in these carefree-looking outfits when quarantines, social distancing and self-isolating are behind us. Our model wears the spring and summer outfits with flair. And, since we live in Florida, any of the beautiful ensembles could carry us into fall as well. If you like what you see, please contact our vendors who are working hard to keep their businesses alive and to keep us looking our best. I know I will be grateful to get out of my sweat pants, get my hair done and go

back to work in an office — all things we have taken for granted for so long. Since we can’t shop for clothes or household decor, we had to think outside the box for our “Found It” pages as well. Usually, we pick a theme and forage for cool items from local stores and boutiques to promote on our pages. In the past year we have featured items like cutting boards and keepsake boxes. Instead, this month, I reached out to fellow Times staffers, members of the Taster’s Choice food panel and friends of Bay magazine to share items they love from their homes — things that have meaning to them and enhance their lives in some special way. I found the task challenging in that I had so many items I thought I couldn’t live without. The exercise made me realize it’s time to do some spring cleaning while we are hold up at home. I plan to heed the call of Marie Kondo and get rid of the things that don’t spark joy and try to hang on to special items that I find inspiring. While we’re in our homes, let’s try to make them our happy spaces.

The view is nice, but it doesn’t help combat boredom. Even the dogs are bored. Photo by Kathy Saunders
