Choosing fibers also takes some practice, but with the help of community knitters who have taken up residence at the shop, there are plenty of resources to go around. “Knitting and crocheting is so portable and it’s a great conversation starter,” she says. “It’s a craft you can share with your children and get involved (in) for a very nominal investment.”
