The Market Day is hosted by Main Street Newnan on the first Saturday of every month from AprilDecember, around the courthouse square in downtown Newnan. The market showcases a variety of handmade, homemade, and homegrown products created by local artisans, artists, and farmers. It features 50 unique booths with new vendors and oneof-a-kind items each month.

Join the Newnan-Coweta Historical Society for an oldfashioned Possum Supper in the tradition of the longtime Newnan Possum Eaters Convention. Hear history of how Possum Suppers became a Newnan tradition starting during the political campaign of William Yates Atkinson for Governor of Georgia in the 1890s, and how the possum became a mascot for President William Howard Taft. The tradition was continued by Newnan civic leaders at several locations into the 1950s and ‘60s. You are invited to try a taste of possum... but there will be plenty of less-exotic alternatives offered on the evening’s menu. No one will go hungry.
