Hi, I’m Tim! Strategist | Consultant | Project manager | Creative | Writer An enthusiastic and creative consultant and project manager who works on the edge of sustainability, social impact, communication and design. My skills: Range from developing strategies to successfully implement sustainability or other societal/cultural issues into business, to doing research and coming up with creative concepts for communication and design. My passions: I have a passion for using business and bottom-up initiatives to do good, for creative writing, traveling, food, art and music. For the digital production agency MediaMonks I developed a vision and strategy on sustainability and CSR including a reporting method that fits their overall business strategy. In this way insights were provided in the impact of MediaMonks and gave strategic direction to their CSR activities.

I helped the website hosting agency True with formulating a set of environmental KPI’s to minimise its environmental impact. I conducted a research on which aspects are most relevant for True in the entire spectrum of sustainability. These KPI’s are the base for a CSR strategy of True.

For the Dutch Embassy in Abu Dhabi I developed a branding and communication strategy to brand and promote the Netherlands and doing business with the Netherlands in the UAE. The result was a strategic roadmap and a creative concept to roll out the Holland brand in the UAE.

As a member of the project team I assisted Tele2 in the improving their sustainability strategy and to make the connection with their brand. This resulted in a comprehensive CSR strategy and creative concepts on how Tele2 can add value to the world around them.

I advised Ymere in formulating a CSR strategy as part of their new overall business strategy. By using co-creation sessions with employees, senior managers and directors we defined a set of strategy pillars where the actual strategy is built on.

In an online community we actively talked to customers of KPN for three weeks about their smartphone use. Main goal was finding influencers and its followers to gain better understanding on their customer experience. Afterwards we wrote a communication strategy for KPN.

As a big account for SAMR, I advised Ziggo periodically in their brand and communication strategy, based on research I conducted on brand experience, awareness and satisfaction amongst customers of Ziggo.

‘Het Duurzaamheidkompas’ is a periodic research on the public opinion of consumers on sustainability which I conducted and for which I wrote press releases. www.duurzaamheidkompas.nl


Project manager | Concept designer www.nudge.nl

As a project manager I developed Nudge Explains. Here I made concept-designs for campaigns and interactive infographics by which we simplistically explain complex themes in sustainability. The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment was our first client. Besides that, I conducted an online satisfaction survey amongst partners of Nudge and wrote an advice on how Nudge could improve its services regarding its partners.

At the Barbershop we tell stories with data. With cutting edge infographics we help organisations with the transmission of the message they want to carry out. Together with Thomas Le Gras we saw an opportunity in helping companies transmit their marketing & communication messages by using infographics. Clients: eg. KLM, Canal Company, KPN, Ziggo, Delta Lloyd

Together with 6 friends I run Stichting Stadsboeren. An organization that makes it possible to run your own small vegetable farm in the middle of Amsterdam. We transform empty lots into green parks, that function as a social area in neighborhoods.

Kurt’s Amsterdam - “T-shirts made from hemp” For the sustainable fashion label Kurt's Amsterdam, we successfully developed and funded a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter: "T-shirts made from hemp". In a real complementary team I was the sustainable branding expert and copywriter. Our campaign is picked up by several influential blogs and websites and had many publications. Kurt's Amsterdam is now an up and running sustainable fashion brand.


Research trainee masterthesis

For my master thesis I did a cross cultural research on resistance to change and cultural diversity at KPMG in Hong Kong and in the Netherlands. Therefore, I stayed in Hong Kong for a few months. Study: Policy, Communication and Organization VU University Amsterdam Graduated
