Hokkie Spar Toernooi Die 1ste meisies hokkie het op 28 Mei aan die Spar-toernooi in George deelgeneem. Die span het al hulle wedstryde gewen, en eindig 3de in die toernooi.
YORK HIGH SCHOOL “Ex-Yorkies” run Comrades Marathon in memory of Carl Schoombie Eight “ex-Yorkies”, Lee Schoombie, Michael King, David and Sean McGibbon, Luke Taylor, JJ Bell, Brendan Bisset and Marcelle du Plessis all completed this year’s Comrades Marathon in the allocated time. As these runners entered the Kingsmead Cricket Stadium for the final lap of the gruelling run, they carried a large CARLSTRONG banner in his memory. The Yorkie friends all made the commitment to run in honour of and in the loving memory of Carl Schoombie, who himself had pledged to run this year’s race, but very sadly this was not to happen. York High is very Proud of those who participated in this EPIC race.

Eden and Central Karoo district speech Four York learners took part in the Eden and Central Karoo district speech competition and in true Yorkie fashion were overall winners. Zanele Mabena finished in 1st place, Judy Kuyler 2nd, Magriet Strydom 3rd and Tess Mushaka in the top 10. Zanele and Judy were selected for the InterProvincial Competition in July in Cape Town. York High is very proud of all thesel, and we wish them well.

Spur Schools Mountain Bike League The first race of the Spur Schools Mountain Bike League was held in the beautiful forests around Saasveld. Our Yorkies once again excelled by leading the series, followed by the Outeniqua team. A team of 18 York mountain bikers represented the school and did us proud. These are the results of Yorkies who finished on the podium.
