Grey’s Gerik Rautenbach won two gold medals in the U19 category, for shot-put and for discus. Dylan Finlay won a gold medal in the 1500m final in the U19 category.

Cricket Nicolas Keevy scored three consecutive centuries at the U15 Cricket week hosted by Affies in Pretoria. His hundreds were against Kearsney College (104), St Alban’s College (138) and Pretoria Boys’ High (108). According to the Grey Cricket historians, this is the first time a Grey High School batsman has achieved this very special feat.

Grey boys win medals at SA Champs During the holidays the Grey air rifle team participated in the South African Air rifle nationals representing both the Eastern Province and Grey. The grey men performed well at a national level. Jacob Dirsuwei shot a score of 491 for his 3P and 478 for his 10 meter stand, Dylan Vimpany scored 501 for his 3P and 473 for his 10 meter stand, Luke Dirsuwei scored 452 for his 3P and 393 for his 10 meter stand and James Trollope scored 448 for his 3P and 436 for his 10 meter stand. The Grey u16 team achieved silver, placing them second in the country for the team category for 3P, and Jacob Dirsuwei achieved bronze, placing him third in the country for the u20 men’s 10 meter category. The Grey air rifle team also recently participated in the national air rifle postal league. The Grey men achieved extremely high scores, with Dylan Vimpany winning a bronze medal for u16 3P and Jacob Dirsuwei winning a silver medal for both u20 3P and u20 10 meter categories.

Grey wins Maths award Top mathematicians Anre Anvari, Josh Stander and Caleb Loyson were selected to represent Eastern Province in the South African Mathematics Team competition. 57 Teams participated in the competition. Our Senior Team must be congratulated on achieving a second place, scoring a magnificent 900 points out of a possible 1 000 points. The Western Province A team came first. At the prizegiving, Grey High School won an award for the best performing school in the Eastern Cape.
