Trophy for Herbert Hurd Primary School Herbert Hurd Primary School received the trophy for the co-ed school that had the most participants in the B-League Age Group galas in Port Elizabeth.

An Easter feast Before they left for their holidays, the Grade 3 pupils at Herbert Hurd collected Easter eggs which they then donated to the pupils of Excelsior Primary School.

Katelyn Pienaar, a Grade 5 pupil at Herbert Hurd, made a giant ‘splash’ at the South African Level 1 Regional Championship Gala, held in Cape Town during the Easter school holidays. Katelyn, who is ranked in the top 5 in her age group in the country, swam away with no fewer than 11 medals at this prestigious gala. She earned four gold medals, four silver medals and three bronze medals. Other Herbert Hurd pupils who took part in this gala at Level 1 were Rebecca Ivings, Thomas Ivings, Justin Agnew and Connor Jay. Thomas Ivings won 4 medals and Justin Agnew won 6 medals. All these swimmers are members of the PEA swimming club and are coached by Mark Edge. Katelyn Pienaar shows her medal haul.
