Magical Number 20 Northcliff High has an incredible record of performance in the Athletics A-League Inter-High competition. In 1997 they took the A-league victory for the first time. For 20 years since that day, Northcliff has shown their dominance in the Athletics A-league. On 29 August this year, we went out to try and achieve schools’ history by becoming the only school ever to hold onto the A-league title for 20 consecutive years. The event was a tight competition between Fourways, Bryanston, Queens High and Northcliff. In the end, Northcliff was able to secure the victory and take the title. To follow on from their A-Team’s success, the following day Northcliff’s B-Team took part in the D-League Athletics Inter-High final. The B-Team also showed their mettle and managed to win the league, thus earning a promotion into the C-League. This means that in 2017, Northcliff will go into the Athletics season as defending A-League champions and will have the highest ranked B-Team in the league structures. Huge congratulations go to the 186 athletes across the two teams who truly made this a historic athletics season.

BRYANSTON HIGH SCHOOL (t) 011 706 6010 (e) bryhigh@bryanston.com Bryanston athletes break records at a League Inter High Athletics Competition Prior to 2014, Bryanston High School were competing in the C league athletics group. In 2014, our athletes took to the track and won the C league competition. This was a turning point for Bryanston High School athletics, which saw our athletes come out in first place again in 2015, winning the B league competition and being promoted once more into the next league, the A league. The best of the best. The Bryanston athletes, fuelled by their success in 2014 and 2015, welcomed the competitiveness and challenge of the A league. On 29 August, Team Bryanston took to the track at the Inter High Competition for the A league athletics teams. Each of our athletes showed ‘True Blue’ spirit in every event and to say that we are proud of their performance, both on and off of the track, is an understatement. Bryanston High School ended off the day

in second place overall, ahead of Queens High School (4th place) and Fourways High School (3rd place). Congratulations to Northcliff High School for winning the 2016 event.
