The Addams Family Shine at Northcliff The last week of May saw Northcliff putting on its annual major production. Every year for the past 36 years, Northcliff High has staged a major musical production – making this one of the longest-standing traditions at the school. 2016 saw us stage The Addams Family – The Musical, a somewhat dark, but hilarious comedy musical. The show played to packed houses every night of its 7-show run at the school. Audiences were wowed by the professional level of this production and the phenomenal acting skills of the cast. Incredibly, two of the lead roles were carried off very convincingly by Grade 9 pupils, Matthew Vey and Tiana de Abreu. This bodes well for future shows at the school. The show was produced and directed by Mr Nick Jourdan, who has been fulfilling the role of producer/director since the inception of the productions in the late 1970s. Audiences were in agreement that this was one of his finest shows. The production takes a break while the pupils write their June mid-year exams and then the entire set, cast, backstage crew and orchestra head down to Durban, where the show will be performed at the Natal Playhouse from 28 June to 3 July.
