Planning the raised beds for succession crops is a key to success. There are many different forms and containers that you can use for raised beds. A search on the Internet will help you find different configurations. One type of a raised bed that I recently learned about was the “keyhole� garden. The keyhole garden is an African concept that works well in drought-stricken areas. Rather than tilling the soil, you use compost and other organic materials as the medium to grow the plants. One nice aspect that I see with this method is that the beds are raised to waist height so someone that has back or mobility issues can still garden and grown vegetables.
