I'm sure by now many of you have seen this bumper sticker at one time or another. It has gained much notoriety from many viewpoints. We at Tidbits do not try to present viewpoints but we thought our readers might want to know what the various symbols represent. Every letter contains a symbol that represents a system of thought: The crescent and star for Islam; the peace symbol from the 60's anti war movement; the relativity formula for science; the star of David for Judaism; the Karma Wheel dotting the i for Buddhism; the Tao symbol for Taoism and the cross for Chrisitianity. At the very least we think the word coexist means good intentions to many people in these troubled times.
