Almost 99% of the fruit is processed for export. The United States is the second largest producer, followed by India, China, Mexico, and Spain. • The total weight of citrus fruit produced in the U.S. each year is greater than that of any other fruit tree in the U.S. • 98% of Florida oranges are harvested by hand.
