Thurston County is steeped in those rich emerald greens and steely blues so indicative of the Pacific Northwest and the evergreen state. It’s a landscape that clearly says, “You Are in the PNW”. But these ubiquitous scenes are also unique to our little corner of the state. Not only do visitors and locals get to enjoy iconic evergreen views, but they do so with the additional benefits that can only be found in Thurston County: Olympia’s waterfront and rambling boardwalks dotted with outdoor public art, Lacey’s contingent of family-friendly community parks and lakes, Tumwater’s canopy of leafy trees sheltering historic, riverfront trails, and certainly the Chehalis-Western Trail and the Yelm-Rainier-Tenino Trail—each delivering miles upon miles of walkable, bikeable pathways.
