DISTRICT

For District 4-2A, there’s really only one thing that dominates this year’s football season: Will Kinder be able to pull off a repeat performance of their stellar 2013 run to the Superdome? Standing in Kinder’s way with their own hopes and dreams of football supremacy is DeQuincy, Mamou, Welsh, Vinton and Lake Arthur. Each are building on solid seasons in 2013, though some are dealing with the transitions of getting new head coaches and replacing graduating starters. The Welsh Greyhounds are hungry to retake their district title, while Vinton seems to have put previous growing pains behind them. Lake Arthur’s struggles when playing on the road will be something that particular team will have to work out if they are going to compete in this aggressive district. As always, this district promises to provide some tough, exciting match-ups.
