al gorithm i c s k e t c h At the very beginning of part 3 of this assignment my team was struggling to parametrically create the module geometry that we intended on tessellating across our desired surface. With help of the tutor we were able to construct the definition below that created an opening module below. As we dissected every element of the definition, even though we understood it, we found it extremely challenging to develop any further, and more importantly to tessellate across a surface. This definition however did provide us with one thing, the reassurance that the concept we had designed by hand, could be made possible in the parametric world too.

The definition focuses on creating a polygon and dividing it into six equilateral triangles that could then be rotated at there base vertically as if they were opening. The definition gave us control to simulate the opening and closing process, and the ability to change the size of the triangular sections, which in turn effected the degree of convexity. On the opposite page you can see the limited outcomes we were able to produce from this definition.
