December 7 – Mountain Winds will present a special holidaythemed performance as part of the free Winter Community Concert Series at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort in Shawnee-on-Delaware. An extraordinarily talented group of musicians, Mountain Winds is a woodwind quintet that performs a variety of music from classical to contemporary, pops to patriotic, and marches, ragtime and Dixieland. Instructor Susan Field will teach participants how to create unique ornaments for your tree, for decorating packages, or for giving as personalized gifts. All materials will be provided. December 8 – East Stroudsburg University proudly presents their annual Winter Choral Concert, beginning at 7:30pm in the Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall of the university’s Fine & Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets in East Stroudsburg. The concert will feature the A Cappella Ensemble and the Concert Choir under the direction of James Maroney. Admission is $3 and tickets are available at the door only. Bring the kids and join Carissa to investigate the science behind snow. You’ll experience hands-on activities to learn how blubber protects animals from the cold, how to preserve snowflakes, and even make your own edible snowflake. Leave your snowsuits at home because this free program will be held indoors. December 9 & 10 – The Monroe County Historical Association (MCHA) will host the annual Holiday Luncheon at the Stroud Mansion on Thursday and Friday, with seating from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The Holiday Luncheon will be held at the historic 1795 Stroud Mansion at 900 Main Street in Stroudsburg. The building will be decorated for the holiday season and music will fill the air. The luncheon will be catered and served hot buffetstyle, featuring mixed green salad with herb vinaigrette, sliced pork roast with

apple jack gravy, apricot cornbread stuffing, smashed red potatoes, green beans, assorted breads & rolls, and a selection of homemade desserts. Complementary glass of wine, coffee, decaf and tea will be served at your table. The mansion’s museum exhibit rooms will be open to those attending the luncheon. December 9 thru 12 - As George Bailey contemplates suicide on Christmas Eve, his guardian angel comes to the rescue in one of America’s classic Christmas stories, It’s a Wonderful Life. The stage play adapted from Frank Capra’s 1946 movie will be presented by the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts on stage at Downtown Hazleton’s J.J. Ferrara Center. The show starts at 7:00pm on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights, with matinee presentations at 1:00pm on Saturday and 3:00pm on Sunday. Be sure to bring your appetite for the all-you-can-eat Christmas Buffet available 90 minutes before each performance. Tickets for “It’s a Wonderful Life” are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 62+ and students 12 & over, and $8 for children.
