LA FESTA ITALIANA
Don’t miss Northeast Pennsylvania’s largest celebration of culture and cuisine! La Festa Italiana will take place in Scranton’s Courthouse Square from Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3. La Festa Italiana is an end-of-summer tradition that attracts thousands of visitors every year. This year, the festival will host approximately 70 vendors offering everything from delicious Italian cuisine to authentic arts and crafts. Continuous entertainment is scheduled throughout the weekend and will include performances by musicians, magicians, dancers and more. There will be a fireworks display on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday. Admission is free. RAILFEST 2012 Railfest 2012 will take place at the Steamtown National Historic Site on Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The annual event is a public celebration of railroading past, present and future. The celebration features a variety of educational exhibits and entertainment all weekend. There will be special train excursions, visiting equipment, railroad models, shop demonstrations, children’s programs and much more. Admission is $7 for visitors ages 16 and older.
