EKEDCPartnersLAWMAtoImproveSweepersVisibility Nume Ekeghe and Oluchi Chibuzor Lagos Waste Management Agency( LAWMA), as a front line organisation in the management of environment in the state, has received over 500 overall kits for street sweepers from Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), as part of it corporate social responsibility. Speaking to journalists at the donation ceremony, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), EKEDC, Adeoye Fadeyibi said the partnership is to foster continuous private sector interventions to meet sanitation demands. This gesture in line with the Environment thematic agenda of the government of Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration. Represented by the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), EKEDC, Mr. Aik Alenkle, he said the relevance of LAWMA as a public utility service provider organisation like EKEDC makes them happy. He said: “Our mission is to empower the quality of lives of our customers, employees, communities and other stakeholders through reliable power and quality services. adopting some of their major challenges to rid the state of pilling issues. “We know the clean Lagos sweepers clean the streets every day and we have about 10,000 of them statewide, so this uniform improves their visibility so that we know they are working. “So we expect that people slow down because their lives are important, that is the essence of the uniform because they are visible all time of the day,” he said.

This was consummated at the FRSC Headquarters in Abuja recently. The partnership will be driven on the platform of technology as the AFF is set to launch its newly designed Report Corruption App called FLAG’IT, which was funded by MacAuthur Foundation. According to a joint statement by both parties, FLAG’IT will serve as a tool to strengthen FRSC’s capacity to be integrity-driven, improve on public service delivery and be very responsive to public feedback. It shall also be a platform where citizens can provide positive feedback on credible and outstanding officers. Speaking at the event, the FRSC Corp Marshall, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi said the Presidential decree 001, which supports the ease of doing business, has created more room for the government to be accountable and transparent in service delivery. He said the FRSC has improved tremendously through innovative projects like, the joint surveillance activity, through which the FRSC partners with other agencies to improve governance in the country; service improvement through which Nigerians can now secure their driver’s licenses after two months,
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwolu has commended the Christian Social Responsibility efforts of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) under the leadership of the General Overseer Pastor E.A Adeboye. He made the commendation during the commissioning of the 12-classroom blocks built by RCCG Tabernacle of David, Ajah, Lagos and the Resettlement Healthcare Centre which was the refurbished and equipped by the same parish. Sanwo-Olu said “My administration is not going to walk away from its responsibility of catering for the educational need of every child that is of school age. We will give our children the opportunity to attend quality schools that will not too far away from them. “This morning, I gave a directive to the Commissioner of Education that all schools owned by the state government be equipped with well trained teachers that will help us to deliver quality training to our children in line with development agenda of my administration.” Pastor Kayode Pitan who doubles as the pastor-in-charge of RCCG Tabernacle of David and assistant pastor-in-charge of the region said the decision to build the school was in response to the lack of any public school in the area, which made children in the community to travel considerable distance to attend school, exposing them to dangers like road accidents.
