This book tells the story of Thinking Development, the start-up NGO that didn't want to settle for inadequate school reconstruction in the aftermath of Haiti's 2010 earthquake.
The book outlines the organisation's work to plan & reconstruct one of Port-au-Prince's biggest girls' schools complexes.
The result is a unique case study, detailing the reconstruction planning process with the local community involved, the project principles and the proposals for a sustainable, disaster-resilient, high-density and child-friendly school that could be replicated elsewhere in Haiti and beyond.
It is a clear, visual & accessible resource for all those interested in development planning, participatory design, international aid, & disaster response & recovery.
