minor momentary distortion. Live Colour feature does add a lot of zing to the colours, but we suggest you keep this turned off. With this television, you can even watch 2D content as 3D. Two 3D glasses are provided as a part of the package. Overall, Sony’s taken the game to the next level with the HX925. 3D content better than ever.

Acer Aspire S3 High quality slim ultraportable at an affordable price

ake no mistakes, the Aspire S3 takes aim directly at the razor-thin MacBook Air ultraportable laptop. The Aspire S3’s chassis is constructed of magnesium alloy and has a gun metal exterior which feels nice on touch. The slim 13-inch laptop weighs and measures about the same as a 13-inch MacBook Air. There isn’t a hint of gloss anywhere, except the black monolithic display. The Aspire S3’s build isn’t exactly similar to the MacBook Air, but it’s definitely good and premium. Despite its 13-inch form factor, the Acer Ultrabook weighs the same as a 10-inch netbook. Sweet!

watching a You Tube video, the video won’t pause. The small window will open up on one part of the screen that will keep the video playing. HD video playback was quite good. Satisfactory brightness and contrast levels made the visual experience that much better. There are a lot of other settings that you can tweak as well. Fast moving scenes didn’t look good at all until we set the Fast motion setting to Super Smooth. No matter what setting we selected before this – clear or smooth, fast moving objects (birds flying etc.) did not feel real, and even suffered from

he Bravia HX925 has a 1920x1080p HD with Corning Gorilla Glass panel. It has a builtin web browser, You Tube app, Facebook, Twitter, widgets and Skype capabilities – this does really pack a few punches if you want web-based content on the television. We were a tad disappointed by the limited variety of widgets at the moment. What particularly impressed us was the YouTube app. We had connected the HX925 via a particularly not very fast Wi-Fi, but the video streaming was literally buffer free. A 720p HD video buffered for 4 seconds and played the rest of the 12 minutes stutter free. If you happen to go back into the menu while

There’s no optical drive, ethernet and side ports on the S3; included ports are placed on its spine. Wireless connectivity includes 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The laptop sports a 2nd generation Intel Core i5 processor and oodles of RAM to offer better performance than any netbook and nearly as good as a mainstream 14-inch laptop. That said, the Aspire S3’s overall performance is good. Working with day-to-day

apps is just fine, and its instant on feature revives the S3 from sleep mode within just a few seconds. Very snappy. The laptop plays 1080p HD files well at native res, but has disappointing onboard audio. Its keyboard is nice and singe-slab touchpad takes time getting used to. Battery compartment is sealed but its performance is surprisingly good, though — easily expect over 3.5 hours of browsing the Web. Overall, a good offering by Acer for style savvy customers for a thin, premium ultraportable at an affordable price. Jayesh Shinde
