Coming on the heels of its $3.4 million Emerald Tower renovation in 2009, which included a complete transformation of 400 of the resort’s 600 rooms, the Hilton Sandestin Beach has refreshed the accommodations in its Spa Tower. The upgrades include everything from new sliding glass doors and window treatments to fresh paint. Dr. Ken Tucker Dr. Ken Tucker, a resident of Demopolis, Alabama, for the past 20 years, holds B.A. and Ph.D degrees from the University of Alabama and an MBA degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is currently serving as the Dean of the College of Business and Professor of Management at the University of West Alabama. Tucker also serves as Chairperson of UWA’s Foundation Board of Directors. During his previous tenure at then Livingston University, he was President of the Faculty Senate and received the Outstanding Business Faculty Award. Dr. Tucker also spent six years as Director of Human Resources and Special Projects at Bryan Whitfield Hospital and two years at the Alabama Technology Network as Director of the Center for Forestry, Paper, and Chemical Technology. Prior to rejoining UWA as Dean, he spent seven years as Director of Training and Education for North American Operations at Weyerhaeuser CorpoDr. Ken Tucker ration. Active in community and civic affairs, Dr. Tucker has served as president of the Demopolis Chamber of Commerce and Demopolis Rotary Club, chairperson of the Demopolis Board of Education, member of Leadership Marengo County and Class X of Leadership Alabama, the Alabama Quality Award Board of Examiners, and the Board of Directors of the Demopolis City Schools Foundation and Marengo County Sports Hall of Fame. He is also a Sunday School teacher at the First United Methodist Church. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Marengo County Commission. Among Dr. Tucker’s honors are the William Gilbert Award for Excellence in Teaching awarded by Livingston University, and the statewide award for Teaching Excellence and Professional Contributions given by the Alabama Association for Higher Education in Business. He is also a Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow and was named Citizen of the Year by the Demopolis Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Dr. Tucker is an active participant on the Lt. Governor’s Commission on Public Private Partnerships, the Alabama Workforce Development Council, the Center for Rural Alabama, and the Alabama Communities of Excellence Board of Directors. He is also a member of ODK, Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Sigma Pi, Blue Key, Delta Mu Delta, Phi Kappa Phi, and a number of national and international Who’s Who publications for Executives and Professionals. Dr. Tucker is married to Mary Murray Tucker and is the father of four daughters: Allison, Kimberly, and twins, Lara and Rachel. He enjoys lifting weights, running, and socializing with family and friends

Craig Dismuke

Craig Dismuke is a Senior Vice President and Chief Economic Strategist for Vining Sparks IBG. Advising portfolio manager’s ranging from some of the largest foreign banks to some of the smallest domestic financial institutions, he evaluates economic developments and fixed income sector performance to identify risks and opportunities within the U.S. market.

Craig published daily, weekly and monthly articles for Vining Sparks as well as other national publications. He is also a frequent speaker at investment and industry conferences on the health of and expectations for the U.S. economy. Prior to joining Vining Sparks, he was a Managing Director in Institutional Fixed Income at Bear Stearns and Company. Craig is a graduate of Union University and completed his Masters of Science in Political Studies at the University of Memphis.

Ken Futch, CSP

Ken Futch is president of Ken Futch and Associates, an Atlantabased training company that teaches organizations and individuals how to turn opportunity into success. Before founding his company in 1986, he was in sales and management with AT&T, where he was recognized for being the top revenue producer in a group of 6,000 salespeople. Ken's success led to his selection as a top trainer at AT&T's prestigious National Sales School.

Ken Futch, CSP

He is a native of the "Tar Heel" state and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was commissioned as a lieutenant and served three years in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam as a combat platoon leader. A past president of the Georgia Speakers Association and a former Toastmasters International humor champion, he delivers more than 100 high-impact programs annually. He has now trained over 100,000 people in seminars presented throughout North America and Europe. He is the author of the book Take Your Best Shot, which is filled with priceless insights and stories about recognizing and achieving opportunities in life. A passionate believer in lifelong learning, he has continued his own development by earning the designation of Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) from the National Speakers Association—a five-year educational and experiential process.

Southeast Credit Union Management Association proudly offers two one-year scholarships to Southeastern Regional Credit Union Management School, also known as SRCUS. Scholarship covers tuition and housing. The one-week school, held three consecutive years at the University of Georgia in Athens, offers a comprehensive curriculum focusing on management, marketing and financial skills enhancement. Students must also complete projects and presentations. All SCUMA members are urged to apply. Obtain an application from the League of Southeastern Credit Union’s Education Department at (866) 2310545. The deadline for submission is April 30th for the 2012 school.

Management Professional of the Year Award This award honors the achievements of a Non-CEO member of SCUMA who makes outstanding contributions to his or her credit union and the movement as a whole. Applications must be submitted by a member and signed by the credit union’s CEO (the CEO is not required to be a member of SCUMA).

CEO of the Year Award Awards Judging occurs by a panel of SCUMA members. The Management Professional of the Year and CEO of the Year recipients will be recognized at the members’ annual business meeting to be held at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa on Thursday August 25. You’re invited to use the application enclosed. Deadline for submission is August 1.

Here’s the popular award that has been the hallmark of your manager’s association for many years!
