FORT YORK Sept. 2, 1614 Dear Champlain, I have met the Huron. I think you should come to this land called Toronto, meaning "meeting place". There are lots of trees for firewood, for canoes and for homes. There is good soil for growing crops. There is fresh water with lots of tasty fish, big and small. I see lots of dear running through the forests. All the sounds of nature are beautiful. The sounds are full of peace and the river and the birds are nice to listen to. I love the sunset and the water because it is so beautiful. I can hear the loons laughing, birds chirping, water bubbling, waves splashing against the shore and animals running through the forest. Please come to this land. It is beautiful. There are blue and green colours everywhere. Sincerely, Etienne Brule Ben Thorek, Grade 3
