The Wright Center’s 2015 graduation ceremony will honor 33 physicians who have completed their residency training in Northeastern Pennsylvania. This ceremony marks the second graduating class of Teaching Health Center residents. Physicians trained in Teaching Health Centers are twice as likely to practice in underserved areas, as compared to those not trained at Teaching Health Centers. The Teaching Health Center initiative addresses physician workforce shortages (particularly in rural and inner-city areas), mal-distribution and escalating healthcare disparities in the United States.
