“We’re one of the few facilities in the city that actually has two pages full of vegetarian offerings on a regular banquet menu,” he says, “so that any guests with specific allergies have a beautiful individually plated meal created for them. It’s not a passing thought. It’s as extravagant for the vegetarian as it is for the rest of the guests.”

D’Angela says he’s thrilled that the college is once again hosting the Business Excellence Awards as it gives the hardest working entrepreneurs and leaders from in and throughout Windsor-Essex the chance to enjoy themselves on a most glamorous evening. But more than that is that the college gets to provide an enhanced service, D’Angela says.

“People always talk about the beautiful view of the riverfront, and they do remember a great evening,” he muses. “But I think about the food, and I think about the mentorship that goes on, and the commitment to making it a beautiful evening.”

• An individual who is an owner of at least one venture

• Must have made a recent (within two years) outstanding contribution to the local economy and the entrepreneurial spirit

• Nominees will have at least 10 years of related experience

• They will demonstrate growth in the way of innovation, sales, employment creation and acceptance in the market

Professional Of The Year

• An individual who is accredited in their industry that demonstrates excellence in their field of business in the recent past and positively influences the community

• They are leading the way in their profession with innovation and acceptance in the market

• Examples include lawyers, accountants, consultants and non-profit leaders
